1. With 11 Top 200, 7 Top 100 and 3 Top 30 prospects, your #1 farm is Colorado (and we'll admit it was a surprise to us too). Led by #9 Cole Carrigg, #23 Kyle Karros, #27 Chase Dollander, #51 Charlie Condon, #53 Robert Calaz, #63 Brody Brecht and #98 Adael Amador, you'd have to believe in us to believe in Colorado as (except for Dollander, Condon and Amador) these may not be well known names, but these baby Rockies prospects are about to explode! And remember this, we are out here on our own...a mile high....
2. Although they lack a true home, the A's have a true top farm with two Top 30 prospects in #4 Jacob Wilson and #29 Henry Bolte (though we admit we are much higher on those two than other ranks). And don't forget MLB ready #52 Colby Thomas standing by with slugger Nick Kurtz (#65) and SPOW guy Denzel Clarke at 84. Plus, they have the grossly underrated Jack Perkins at #93. That makes 6 top 100 prospects (almost 7 with Will Simpson at #102. The players 12 in the top 200 was most among our ranks). Yes, COL and the A's, those are our tops farms. Call us crazy, but these farms are producing.
3. Maybe there is no standout "superstar" prospect for the M's, so why do they make our Top 5? Because this is as deep a farm as you can find with #50 Michael Arroyo, #69 Felnin Celestin, #72 Cole Young, #73 Colt Emerson, #75 Jonny Farmelo #94 Cole Phillips, #95 Lazaro Montes and #100 Harry Ford giving Seattle 8 Top 100 prospects (the most in our ranks), plus 3 more Top 200 for 11 total Top 200 (tied for 2nd most).
4. Despite some recent graduations (and trades), LAD still has an incredibly strong system led by #34 Josue de Paula, #45 Dalton Rushing, #47 Alex Freeland, #58 Zyhir Hope, #59 Joendry Vargas, #66 Edgardo Henriquez and #92 River Ryan, making it 7 Top 100 plus 3 more Top 175 prospects including Eduardo Quintero at #140.
5. #14 Travis Bazzana, #17 Chase DeLauter, #26 Jaison Chourio are quite the 1- 2-3 punch giving CLE a future top a MLB order here! And if #82 Daniel Espino can rebound like we think he can, then CLE will have a 4th top 50 prospect. And everyone discounts the power threat (and staying potential) of #68 Johnathan Rodriguez (but we haven't). There is also promising newcomers, 20. y.o. Angel Genao (#79) and 18 y.o. Welbyn Francisca (#85), as well as 4 more in the top 200 tying Colorado (and Seattle) with 11 in our Top 200.
6. #13 Sebastian Walcott (who some have as #1), #20 Emiliano Teodo (a name you'll soon hear a lot about), #46 Kumar Rocker, #67 Alejandro Rosario, and #71 Alejandro Osuna give Texas a very strong 5 in the Top 100, plus #159 Winston Santos and #185 (Yeremi Cabrera) for 7 in the Top 200.
7. #3 Emmanuel Rodriguez, #11 Luke Keaschall and #16 Walker Jenkins are quite the 1-2-3 punch, and like CLE, Minny could have their future 1-2-3. But, watch out for #86 Payton Eeles who may debut before the superstars! Either way, with 3 Top 25 players, 4 in the Top 100, 5 in the Top 150 and 6 in
the Top 175, Minnesota takes 7 in our Farm ranks.
8. A top heavy 3 in the top 25 #1 Kristian Campbell, #5 Roman Anthony plus #25 Marcelo Mayer (3 surefire major league impact players, well, as surefire as prospects can be) together with promising prospects Franklin Arias (#80), Jhostnyxon Garcia (#122), Matthew Lugo (#151) and Luis Perales (#156) had us going in thinking Boston would be the #1 farm; but instead, after the trade with CHW for Crotchet, BOS now has a gap in the 25-79 tier having them settle at a still strong #8.
9. A top 10 Rays farm without a top 25 pitcher? Yeah, that's a first. While this may be a different Rays farm, it's no less as potent with #7 Carson Williams #32 Aidan Smith, #83 Brayden Taylor, #90 Xavier Isaac leading the charge ...and oh, the next stud pitcher? How about #42 Yoniel Curet!
With 5 Top 100 and 7 top 200, the Rays have our #9 minor league system.
10. The Phils are pitching rich again! #10 Andrew Painter and #91 Wen Hui Pan make for a fearsome pitching prospect duo (and had they not traded #26 George Klassen to LAA they'd have the trifecta!) But it's not all pitching,
as there is #55 Aidan Miller and #56 Justin Crawford. That's four Top 100 prospects plus 3 more Top #175.
11. The DBacks are just a prospect away from making a case for the top 10 (and Boasting 3 Top 50 prospects: #24 Jordan Lawlar, #36 Deyvison De Los Santos and #49 Demetrius Crisantes AZ also has #99 Caleb Roberts and almost top 100, #104 Druw Jones--who, if he can live up to his incredible
potential, could someday reach #1). The Diamondbacks are also have 4 more top 175 led by Adrian Del Castillo at #112, Ryan Waldschmidt at #128, Gino Groover at #163 and Slade Caldwell at #166 giving AZ 9 in the top 175.
12. The fightin Phils aren't the only pitching powerhouse as the next two teams
will give the liberty bell a run. On Chicago's Southside, you'll find the trio of #41 Noah Schultz and #44 Hagen Smith and the now debuted Sean Burke (#96). The Sox also send a thank you to BOS for #61 Braden Montgomery (who is expected to be quick riser through the ChiSox system) plus #108 Kyle Teel. And, don't forget Colson Montgomery at 106. That gives the Southsiders 4 top 100, and a total of 8 in the top 175.
13. The Cubs have ready to go AAA stars Matt Shaw (#8) plus #35 Owen Caissie, #64 Jaxon Wiggins, #89 Kevin Alcantara and #91 Moises Ballesteros, add in #117 James Triantos, #121 Gage Workman and #127 Jonathan Long...and we find Chicago on the cusp of a top 10 farm!
13. Like Philadelphia and the White Sox, Pittsburg's farm is founded on pitching.
In fact, that's been the core of Pittsburg's developmental system-- from Jameson Taillon to Gerrit Cole to Tyler Glasnow to Mitch Keller to Paul Skenes and Jared Jones. With those player's success, the Pirates are becoming the Rays pitching factory! And, this year is no different with MLB ready #38 Bubba Chandler and #47 Braxton Ashcraft set to debut. But it's not just pitching as #60 Konnor Griffin, #87 Termarr Johnson and #97 Nick Yorke will remind us this year, giving Pittsburg 5 top 100 (but the strong depth stops
there).
15. Detroit, what? You heard right. With #5 Jackson Jobe and #12 Max Clark, DET has a top 2 as good as any team. And, don't forget #54 Thayron Liranzo and #62 Bryce Rainer, plus 3 more Top 175 (Kevin McGonigle at #119, Jace Jung at #133, Hao-Yu Lee at #165) putting the Tigers on the cusp of overtaking CHC and PIT.
Although there is a big divided between the Top 15 and bottom 15 teams in our Farm ranks, there are three teams looking to break that divide. BALT, MIL and STL.
16. Despite graduations threatening Baltimore's prospect dynasty, the O's still have two top 20 prospects in #2 overall Coby Mayo and #15 Samuel Basallo. But, after #111 Dylan Beavers, it's pretty light.
17. Led by #21 Jason Misiorowski and #74 (Jesus Made), the Brewers have a strong top 2, plus 5 more players in the top 150: #105 (Jeferson Quero), #113 (Luke Adams), #114 (Caleb Durbin), #137 Tyler Black, #150 Cooper Pratt.
17. The Brewers' NL Central rivals St. Louis say "not so fast my friend", touting #22 Tink Hence and #34 JJ Wetherholt (who most ratings have ahead of Tink) as well as #57 Quinn Mathews (who may make STL's starting 5 out of camp). The Cards also have two more in the Top 200 (to make 5 Top 200).
19. Holding at #19 in our ranks, the Mets also hold #19 overall prospect Brandon Sproat (who we are extremely high on), plus another top arm in #81 Jonah Tong, followed by #134 Ronny Mauricio, #139 Jett Williams, #148 Carson Benge and #153 Ryan Clifford.
20. #18 Jasson Dominguez, #69 Spencer Jones, #154 Everson Pereira, #155 Rafael Flores.
21. #76 Miguel Ullola (a hidden gem), #78 Cam Smith, #101 Shay Whitcomb, #123 Anderson Brito, #126 Brice Mathews and #130 Zach Dezenzo are all very strong prospects that make the case for a higher Farm rank. And, it's possible if not probable that 4 of those 6 will appear in MLB games this year.
21. #26 George Klassen, #37 Christian Moore, #151 Matthew Lugo, #197 Camden
Minacci
23. #40 Chase Burns, #97 Cam Collier, plus #183 and #195
24. #30 Leodalis De Vries plus #139, #158, #173
24. Up from last in 2023 (though that wasn't hard to do) are the Braves with #43 Hurston Waldrep, #113 Nacho Alvarez, #172 Jhancarlos Lara, #174 Cam Caminiti
24. #31 Bryce Eldridge, #155 Wade Meckler, #162 Bo Davidson
27. #92 Jarlin Susana, #110 Brady House, #161 Alex Clemmey.
27. #90 Ricky Tiedermann. #132 Charles McAdoo, #138 Jonatan Clase, #173 Alan Roden
29. #39 Jac Caglianone, #184 Blake Mitchell, #195 Carter Jensen
30. #107 Thomas White, #124 Noble Meyer, #178 Agustin Ramirez
